Not as advertised. We booked this hotel as it's in the luxe collection. For our 25th wedding anniversary, something special.We knew it was a quiet area but from the information given it was not very far from restaurants shops bars etc, it clearly is. What is missing from all the pictures are the numerous steps you have to climb. From the pool to our room at the very top there were 56! Not many you think climbing down. There are another 14 to get to breakfast dinner and tea! Then ones to leave the resort so beware if you have mobility issues. If you have allergies you have no chance. No dairy is never understood. Whilst there a couple were burgled and still left there. The safe being ripped off the wall and everything gone passports, jewellery. I really felt for this older couple I do hope things are sorted for them, but then been right at the back of the open resort with no security cameras etc , you can clearly see it being a target. This then became a scary, lonely out of town place so was scared for the remainder of my holiday. The bungalow itself was cleaned daily if you wished, beds made,towel, linen change all great. The bungalow had good sea views and with more effort could be great but the good does not out weigh the negative we experienced. You could have the pool all day, pool guy very funny. No atmosphere music unless people are at the bar, there were none but you can ring the bell on the bar to get a drink, have fun waiting, we gave up. One day we did and the bar man was superb, even played the music I requested! Apart from that nothing. Out and about there are 2 supermarkets one down all the steps through an empty hotel that the hotel directs you too but a long way back and another in opposite direction through a village. Visit Paulo's bar very good place and only other bar in vicinity near promenade. I have never,ever written a review before and felt very determined to give an accurate review. Had a fantastic time, from the moment we arrived it was made special, nothing was to much trouble the staff are wonderful alway helpful and happy, can not wait to come back again from the family

My husband and I recently spent a week (19th May – 26th May) in our favourite resort of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. We decide to take a bus to the beautiful Papagayo beaches and as we got off we spotted the above hotel nearby. As Iberostar hotels have a good name we decided to go in for a look. At reception we were made most welcome and asked for a tour. The Manager was passing and stated that he was happy to take us round. His name was Gianmaria Vitagliano, a most charming Italian and he proceeded to show us the amenities. As we went round the various areas we were very impressed by the standard of cleanliness, our number one concern. As it was breakfast time we spoke with the guests who were in the restaurant and all stated that the food was excellent. Gianmaria showed us one of the 48 bungalows on site and we were amazed at the dimensions. This one had two bedrooms with an en suite, a kitchen and seating area with a large flat screen TV. The bedrooms led on to a massive terrace. The views across the sea to Fuerteventura were breath-taking and must be spectacular at night. The terrace also contained a Jacuzzi and a barbecue. Gianmaria informed us that the hotel supplied the coals etc for the barbecue. I have to say that the hotel had the most tranquil atmosphere and we discovered that many of the guests returned time and time again. We can understand why. We have stayed and visited many hotels in the Canary Islands and a few have not lived up to our expectations. However we believe that this hotel is a hidden gem and we intend to make it one of our Winter destinations.

Great rooms. Food ok but not enough staff reminds me of the carry on abroad film where owner turns up in different jobs. Have to play hunt the barperson.

Rooms and facilities of La Bocayna Village

All rooms of Iberostar La Bocayna Village Bungalows Playa Blanca are with excellent facilities, which make your stay really comfortable. There are two fantastic bathrooms in these bungalows as follows.

the first has a WC, shower and bath
the other has WC and shower only.

Other room facilities include fully fitted kitchen, spacious terrace, internet, air-conditioning, DVD, large flat-screen television, telephone, fridge, coffee/tea maker, safe, hairdryer, bathrobe, aromatic bath-salts, flower, cushions, additional bed and room service. The superior bungalows have additional facilities like barbecue, two terrace-areas and private Jacuzzi. Other common facilities of Iberostar La Bocayna Village Bungalows Playa Blanca consists of swimming pool, sun-bathing arrangements, pool bars, pool for children, sports, sauna, massage, fitness centre, water-sports, 24 hour reception desk, multilingual staff, currency exchange, mini market, laundry, business centre and baby-sitting.
