Cala San Vicente, also known as Cala Sant Vicent, on Ibiza’s northeastern shores is a small resort with a fanatic golden beach. The bay is well sheltered looked over by hotels, with steps to the beach, not really practicable if you have walking difficulties or a child in a pram.

There are no large wristband resorts in this area –  the traditional type of all-inclusive service is either limited or completely unavailable at the majority of hotels during most of the seasons and usually, the hotels operate on BB / HB basis. This being said, it is an absolute paradise for a slow-paced, beach first holiday-and if you are after the ‘no-thinking’ feeling, we present an all-inclusive-style layout below.

The beach is sheltered by hill on each side dotted with trees. A tidy walkway stretches from one end to the other, with visible signboards indicating the swimming area and the protected Posidonia seagrass meadows that are located offshore. You can look forward to a mild cooling breeze coming from the sea in the afternoon most days, plus a really mixed, tranquil gathering of holidaymakers instead of noise from the nightclubs.

Ancient Ibiza under your feet

The Punic sanctuary of the goddess Tanit, the Cova d’es Cullerem, sits in the pine-covered hills above the bay. A bust of Tanit that was excavated in 1907 is presently displayed in the island museum and the cave generally provides access during the seasonal morning hours (entrance is free). Three kilometres away Cala San Vicente, the Esglesia de Sant Vicent de sa Cala is an unassuming, minimalistic, humble 19th-century church dedicated to St. Vincent Ferrer and constructed in the period from 1827 to 1838 in Ibiza.

Wild corners for explorers

• ✔️ Punta Grossa lighthouse (Faro de Punta Grossa) – An abandoned lighthouse, dramatic in its position on a high cliff above the bay. The trek is only for sure-footed, who are confident enough – areas here are exposed and deteriorated. The views are truly incredible –  care is a commanding necessity.
• ✔️ Tagomago islet by boat – A secluded isle in the east coast’s region with crystal-clear sea plus a lighthouse built in 1913. Boat tours around Ibiza’s north & east parts are docked to allow diving amongst its beaches.

If you are looking for an all-inclusive holiday in a mega-resort, you will not find it Cala San Vicente, it’ just the opposite of that. Cala San Vicente is a place to find Ibiza’s softest side; a lovely bay with myths in the mountains. It has a promenade dedicated to basic enjoyments and absolutely no stress. And to top it off, you can still take advantage of that all-inclusive comfort without having to queue up at the buffet.
