Spartia, Kefalonia – Crafting a Bespoke “All Inclusive Style” The Smart Way – Where it is & what it feels like
Spartia sits on Kefalonia’s peaceful south coast, a tiny village wrapped in olive groves and citrus trees. Two coves steal the show: sandy, family-friendly Klimatsias (often called Spartia Beach) and secret Thermanti, reached by a short, steep footpath. Expect calm water, snorkelling, and a couple of simple beach tavernas. The all inclusive reality check
Spartia itself doesn’t run on big resorts. It’s villas, apartments, and small hotels. For a classic wristband experience, look to nearby Skala. Louis Apostolata Island Resort offers All Inclusive dining with multiple restaurants and bars, plus a shuttle into town. San Giorgio Hotel also runs an All Inclusive plan. Both sit around the Skala area on Kefalonia’s south-east coast. But, just because there are no traditional all inclusive hotels doesn’t mean you cannot feel all inclusive. Follow our suggestions for all inclusive style:Great places to stay in Spartia (for our bespoke plan)
Weather snapshot
Beach season runs May to October. Expect about 26–29°C in June–August with long sunny days; shoulder months sit in the low-mid 20s. Winters are mild and wetter. Our Bespoke “Cheap All Inclusive Holidays” Plan
(Prices shown in pounds; conversions use roughly €1 ≈ £0.87.)Meals
Most stays here are self-catering or B&B, so eat well in resort tavernas. Typical prices on Kefalonia: inexpensive meal about €13.50; mid-range dinner for two about €35–€50; draught beer about €4–€5.50. Converted, plan £34–£36 per person, per day for three meals if you mix simple lunches with a sit-down dinner.7 nights: ~£240–£250. 14 nights: ~£480–£500.
Drinks
Taverna prices are friendly. Figure £3.70 for a beer, ~£10–£11 for a litre of house wine (share it), ~£1.80–£2 for a soft drink, ~£3 for a cappuccino. A moderate drinker should budget ~£13–£15 per day.7 nights: ~£95–£105. 14 nights: ~£190–£210. (Dial it down to ~£5/day if you mostly drink softs/water.)
Snacks
Ice creams, bakery treats and fruit add up. Allow ~£4 per day.7 nights: £28. 14 nights: £56.
Activities
Free joys abound: lazy beach days at Klimatsias, the hidden Thermanti cove, and sunset views on Cape Liakas. Turtle-spotting at Argostoli harbour is magical on market mornings. For paid highlights, the blue-lit boat ride on Melissani Cave is about £8.70; Drogarati Cave is about £5.20. Combo tickets are great value.Bespoke total (per person):
- ✔️ 7 nights: roughly £360–£380 for food, drinks and snacks.
- ✔️ 14 nights: roughly £730–£770.
That’s your do-it-yourself version of all inclusive, with better tavern food and full flexibility.Getting there & local logistics
